TASKS

JSRF volunteers have a variety of tasks available. Below, you will find descriptions of the different roles. In addition to the listed tasks, volunteers may be asked to assist with other “ad-hoc” duties as needed.

Read through the task descriptions below and select three that interest you the most in your application. You may also choose the option “I am interested in all tasks.” We aim to consider volunteers’ preferences when assigning tasks.

entrance team

The entrance team welcomes festivalgoers with a rock attitude! Tasks include checking tickets, exchanging wristbands, and assisting customers with various inquiries.

This role requires precision and speed while maintaining the festival atmosphere, even in hectic situations. The entrance team works according to festival opening hours.

cloakroom

Cloakroom work is fast-paced customer service that involves a lot of movement, carrying customers’ belongings manually, and operating a cash register.

During breaks, you can put your feet up and enjoy the festival vibe.

The cloakroom team works smoothly throughout the festival until early morning hours.

cafe

In the café, you’ll meet rockers with a customer service mindset throughout the event. The café sells coffee/tea/cocoa, as well as small sweet and savory snacks. The role includes selling products at the stand, as well as maintaining and keeping the area tidy.

merch stand

Located at the heart of the festival area, the merch stand is a team effort where fans purchase band merchandise.

Tasks include displaying products, stocking merchandise, handling inventory, and processing payments. A friendly approach ensures happy customers.

Although the job is busy, it also offers a chance to enjoy the festival atmosphere.

The merch stand is open according to the festival’s opening hours. In addition, Thursday and Sunday are inventory days, when products are counted and organized/packed. The inventory days last only a few hours.

area maintenance

Task includes taking care of the cleanliness of tables in the event area, as well as working at the bottle/can recycling point.

At the recycling point, bottles and cans brought from the event area are sorted into their own bags.

A brisk and positive attitude will take you far!

band parking

The role includes manning the entrance to the band parking area, receiving the bands and reporting their arrival to the backstage manager, as well as monitoring the area to ensure that no outsiders enter the backstage or parking area. The task is carried out in cooperation with the backstage manager and security staff.

This role requires a brisk customer service attitude, appropriate firmness, and good teamwork skills. Fluency in Finnish is required, along with basic English skills.

The work takes place outdoors, so weather-appropriate clothing is essential. Band parking shifts are on Friday and Saturday from around 16.00-23.00, and if necessary, the shift can be divided into shorter parts (for example, if the weather is poor). Of course, you can also go inside for breaks whenever needed.
